Flow
/They say on the other side of resistance is flow. Recently I’ve been working to find my flow in life. Some time ago my husband and I were talking about the line ‘when you stop struggling, you float.’ I remember saying I’m trying so hard to float but I truly don’t know what that means. It seems most of my life I’ve had to swim as fast as I could to survive and make life happen. Now that the storms have passed and the danger has moved on, the struggling is no longer needed. It truly shouldn’t be that hard to simply float, to just be.
I started painting a piece that I call my knot of life. It all started as an energy painting with no intention. Simply moving the paint to match my emotions. It turned into a gorgeous knot.
After painting on my knot for some time, I felt like I was encouraging and focusing on my tangled up life a bit too much. I now wanted to focus my energy on the flow I so desperately craved. I decided to paint a partner for my knot that was the flow I craved. These two paintings quickly became my favorite to sit and explore what flow could look like.
